Budget should include more than the main invitation card. Count envelope liners, insert cards, vellum, ribbon, wax seals, addressing, postage, assembly time, and protective mailers. A format that looks affordable per piece can become expensive once every layer is added.

Mailing weight and thickness matter. Acrylic and layered laser-cut suites may need additional postage or protective packaging. Vellum and flat card suites are usually easier to keep within standard mailing expectations, especially when using wax seal stickers instead of bulky poured seals.

The safest way to choose is to match material to venue and guest expectation. A black-tie ballroom can carry acrylic or laser-cut drama. A garden wedding may look better with vellum and botanical paper. A destination wedding often benefits from lighter, simpler mailing formats.

If you want a premium look without overcomplicating the suite, combine a strong flat card with one elevated detail: vellum wrap, custom wax seal, ribbon, deckle edge, or specialty envelope. One confident material choice usually looks more expensive than too many competing layers.
